A. Ellery Breland

I'm an Art Teacher with a background in teaching English as a Second Language and Mandarin Chinese. I am certified K-12 (pending Spring 2016).

I graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the fall of 1996. My specialty was oil painting. I began teaching in 2003 through ELIC, a Christian organization that trains and sends teachers to countries that are closed to missionary workers. I taught English writing at the Yangtze University in Jingzhou, China. Since then, I have taught at a Christian boarding school in Iowa, a large Christian high school in West Michigan, and at various Chinese universities.

I am a Christian and I consider it a gift to be able to work in education. God has created us in His image as people of community. Therefore, it is a blessing to be able to work directly in the community as a teacher who can help the students see relationships growing among people and the disciplines they are learning in the school.
